Tax Credits & Incentives

When greening your home, tax credits and incentives can increase your buying power, but it’s easy to get bogged down in the details. Consult with your accountant for financial tips and advice before beginning any major home improvement project.

Thinking about alternative energy systems? If you install a solar energy system (including solar water heating and solar electric systems), small wind system, geothermal heat pump, or residential fuel cell and microturbine system, you can receive a 30% tax credit for systems installed before December 31, 2016; the previous tax credit cap no longer applies.
